Bird Collection

My current approach is to create two paintings on the same theme.

The motivation for the first watercolor, Texas Red Horse Trailer

companion watercolor to this "Texas Green Jay" watercolor painting.

The Texas Green Jay is beautiful,

colorful, approx 9” bird, found in South Texas.

The fence post is a classic iconic symbol of the Texas open spaces

in both watercolors. Drawn to the configuration of these gateposts

with native grasses and flowers, the intent was to capture

the construction and design to show the textured

character of the wood. This subject became a natural stage

for the Texas Green Jay.
